So it seems that the only way to get my son to take a nap these days is with a car ride. I feel like I have a colicky infant, but no, I have a 2 year old. Might as well be a colicky infant with the tantrums I put up with lately. Today he had the audacity to tell me "No" when I asked him to do something. I thought this stuff didn't start until he was in his Bossy 3's. Shows what I know.
But I digress. So lately I long for the car rides that give me a little piece of heaven: Silence. I can actually think! But usually I'm jamming to Lady Gaga and Britney Spears--my taste in music is inpeccable and I dare you to question me. It reminds me of being in high school where driving around in your car dancing to Britney Spears was cool--or maybe I just thought it was cool. And looking like a fool? ::gasp:: Never! Actually, thinking about all of this makes me excited for the days when my son is in high school and I'm still jamming to Britney Spears when I drop him off. lol. Poor thing.
So basically, this is what I've spent the past two days doing. Driving. And its been excellent. Really excellent. Even if I am wasting so much gas I am single-handedly destroying the ozone one mile at a time. Silence makes it all worth it...

Why I'm Starting This Blog...
I've been a mother now for two years. When I had my firstborn, X, a boy, I was an uptight, scared, protective mother. My instincts were always right on...except for the fact that he was eating babyfood still at a year old!
After a difficult 2nd pregnancy that included 20 weeks of bedrest and a daughter, C, born at 33 weeks I've become much more lax. Many people don't know this--probably because they're not stupid enough to have kids 14 months apart--but having two kids so close together is hard.
My daughter is now 10 months and on the verge of walking while my son just hit his terrible two's. Excuse my French but shit's about to hit the fan!
Enjoy some laughs on my behalf.
